First snow

There isn't a whole lot of color outside today.  We have our first snow - maybe 4 inches so far.  It was so nice earlier, with the quiet of snow.  The snow blowers are humming now, although it is still snowing.

The birds are visiting the bird feeders, and the squirrels are eating what is dropped.

Snow Goose?

Nobody home . . .

Is it Spring yet?

  3. Nice pictures! The snow was pretty yesterday. I'm enjoying being inside by the wood stove but will be thrilled when it March and a chance of a nice day.

  5. Hi NEbluebird, I am always interested in seeing local garden blogs. I clicked on your name, but see that you just joined Blogger, and haven't started a blog. I hope you do.

  7. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Your pictures of the first snow are so pretty. I love looking at snow in pictures. LOL! The real stuff not so much. I am getting tired of the constant rain and a little snow would break the monotony. I love the shot of the squirrel. We never have the dark ones here so I find your fascinating to look at. Happy New Year to you.

  8. Hi Judy,
I'm sad that the snow has melted. I wish winter temps would come back. I hope to have this kind of weather when spring gets here.

Thanks for your nice well wishes for our New Year. I hope for the same for you and your family.

  9. Nope, judging by your photos spring isn't quite there yet.

You know the two washtubs you have in your header? I have the same ones out by my potting bench. One tub is filled with pebbles for adding to containers, the other tub has water to it and I use it to soak seedlings and pots, etc. I love the practical magic of these two old workhorses.

    All joys to you,

    Sharon
